24-Hour Residency Program: Steuart Pittman

The Pancake Clubhouse is pleased to announce our next artist-in-residence all the way from Oakland, California. For his 24-Hour Halloween Residency, Steuart Pittman will paint an incredibly simple wall mural in response to the following question: "We assume there to be differences between the artist in a studio and a house painter working as a means of income. But in what ways might these practices intersect?" As he works, Pittman will assist Pancake Clubhouse residents in distributing Halloween candy to Trick-Or-Treaters. A mural-unveiling ceremony concert will follow, featuring a performance with his band, Boomerang Boomerang and other ghoulish musical delights.

Boomerang Boomerang Performance, Haloween night, 7pm, free

Pittman graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois in 2007. He currently lives and works in Oakland, California, where he attends Mills College and studies painting.
